Position Description
Role: Strategic Lead Family Violence Waitematā
Term: 12 months fixed term contract
Location – Waitematā -this role will cover the entire district
Hours of work: 40 hours a week. Monday-Friday
Reporting to: Te Ohu Kitenga (Multi Agency Governance Group for Family Violence across Waitematā)
About us
Te Ohu Kitenga is the Governance Group overseeing multi-agency action on family violence across Waitematā. Te Ohu Kitenga operates under the Whāngaia Ngā Pā Harakeke model of Police family violence response. This group has been primarily focused on local responses after violence has occurred but is working to adopt a systems change approach to affect change on family violence across Waitematā. This shift will require a strong focus on collaboration, connection to community needs, and a capability building approach.
This role will be employed by Te Rito Rodney and collectively managed by the three family violence networks in Waitematā. The role is supported by Te Ohu Kitenga (includes - Police, Iwi, Te Whatu Ora, Oranga Tamariki, MSD, MOJ, Kainga ora, Corrections, MOE, Auckland Council, NGOs)
The Strategic Lead Role will:
Enhance collaboration and foster collective responsibility with a focus on shared purpose and values
Adopt a systems thinking approach to enable innovation across the family violence spectrum from prevention, early intervention, response and long-term healing
Understand key levers of change across the family violence system in Waitematā, including government agencies and non-government organisations
Align with Te Aorerekura the national strategy on family and sexual violence
Involve working remotely and on site along with extensive travel within Auckland especially Waitematā.
Strengthen relationships with iwi
Key skills and qualifications required for the role:
Senior experienced family violence sector
Senior experience in facilitation, co-ordination, problem-solving, driving collaboration, driving systems change.
Strong relationship skills.
Knowledge of and commitment to uphold Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
Relevant tertiary qualification.
