Technology Facilitated Family Violence
ECLIPSE's Technology Facilitated Family Violence masterclass will explore how technology is utilised to facilitate family violence. We will discuss the prevalence of the use of technology and how digital communication tools, apps, and resources are used as a medium to commit acts of coercive control in the context of family violence. After this workshop, you will understand the use of technology to perpetrate acts of family violence, how to scan for, identify and safely respond to risk.

About the course
During this workshop, we will explore how to undertake an appropriate risk analysis for technology facilitated family violence and develop robust safety strategies to keep primary victims safe on devices. We will explore the tracking capabilities of unexpected everyday devices, such as pet microchips, and electronic tools in homes, such as automatic curtains openers, appliance apps, and how, unbelievably, these can be used to perpetrate harm. This workshop will provide tools to appropriately consider, recognise and respond to technology facilitated family violence.
